August Drum & Journey Circle - Harvest

August is traditionally harvest time. We've planted seeds of intention in our lives, nurturing our growth, and connecting with our power, and now it is time to reap some of the fruits of our spiritual work. This can be a very sweet time of recognizing and giving yourself credit for the changes you've made in your life and in yourself. It can be deeply nourishing time of acknowledging the results of your effort and enjoying it!

June Drum & Journey Circle - Summer Solstice

Happy Solstice!  We’re celebrating this celestial event at our upcoming Drum & Journey Circle, Friday, June 24, with drumming and shamanic journeying. This year, June 20 marked the actual summer solstice in our part of the world (the Northern Hemisphere), and was also a full moon. Solstice means “sun standing still” in Latin; and indeed the sun seems to stand still for a while at this time of year - the length of each day is the same from June 20-24.

Traditionally, the ancient people of Northern and Western Europe celebrated the summer solstice (Midsummer Night) on June 24. So this Friday night is a great time to celebrate the sun and the warm, beautiful days and nights. We hope to drum outdoors for a bit this month among our favorite trees across the street from the Marian Center, in Bay View Park. This will also be the last time our drum circle will meet at this location – in July we move to a new space but we will still be in Bay View!

We have decided to rent our "regular" room, Rm. R-216, due to the risk of the ground being too wet for us on Friday night. But, we hope to do some group drumming outdoors for a bit, if the weather is cooperative. As usual we will have a few drums and rattles available for those who don’t have one, but if you can, please bring your own and any extras you are willing to share. Restrooms will be available inside the Marian Center. Please email us if you have questions.

Hope to see you Friday at 6 pm!

Summer Solstice Blessings,

Holly and Sally
