October Drum & Journey Circle - Honoring Our Ancestors

Hello and hope this message finds you well! Hopefully, by now, you've had a chance or two to enjoy the season's changing colors and kick a few fallen leaves on a woodsy trail somewhere special to you. This month, the Circle will meet and journey indoors at the Marian Center in Rm. R-216 at 6pm -- and, weather permitting, we'll also head outdoors for a bit for some fresh-air drumming under the light of the moon and stars.

This month's focus for the Circle will be about our ancestors. In some traditions, ancestors are remembered and venerated toward the end of October. It is said that the "veil" between the Seen and Unseen worlds is at its thinnest at this time, making our connection to those who've passed over easier to access. Regardless of whether or not you are able to See or directly communicate with the ancestors, you may find that the falling autumn leaves and the crisp chill in the air naturally invites you to contemplate the seasons of your own life and of those who've passed on.

For the next Circle, Sally and I will prepare a community ancestor altar for the evening. We invite you to participate by bringing along pictures and/or mementos of your loved ones and relatives who've passed on as a way to honor and remember them. For those ancestors who desire it, the Circle will offer healing through the sounds of the drums and a heartfelt collective intention for the highest good of all.

We are very thankful for our October circle sponsor, Angel Light Center for the Healing Arts! The wonderful and kind owner, Sheri Bauer, is constantly (and very thoughtfully) stocking the store with new items such as crystals, stones, incenses and cleansing sprays, books, oracle cards, and handmade jewelry and arts. The knowledgeable and friendly staff are always happy to provide helpful information and inform you of upcoming Art of Healing School of Energy Medicine classes and healing services provided by the wide array of competent energy practitioners and teachers.

Please visit Angel Light's website www.angellightllc.com as well as the store at 13300 Watertown Plank Road, Elm Grove, WI.
